It’s great to be in the pit! That is what the children at Park Hall are learning all about.. https://twitter.com/twitter/statuses/952921436343226368 They are learning to understand that when facing a new and difficult challenge you go into what is called, the pit. To get out of the learning pit you need to put in lots of hard work and determination, and with the help of your friends and teachers you will be able to get out of the pit. T-C-1633-The-Learning-Pit_ver_1 See our twitter page for examples of when children are going into the pit to become better learners. Please share any examples of yourselves or home learning challenges where children are going into the pit and successfully climbing out the other side, which does not always happen on the first attempt!

If your child is getting a new phone or tablet for Xmas, you may wish to consider some monitoring software to keep a parental eye on what they’re doing. There are plenty available to download, some are free some you have to pay a small subscription. Click below to see an article explaining some of the more popular monitoring apps https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/best-parental-control-apps/ Click below for advice and instructions on setting up the most popular devices (parental controls, internet filters etc.) https://www.internetmatters.org/parental-controls/interactive-guide/ If you are buying a new game for your child, make sure you are happy with it first. Just because “everybody else has got it” doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for your child. Click below to check the Common Sense Media website first https://www.commonsensemedia.org/
Thank you to all of the Park Hall friends and families who came along on Friday to the Christmas Fayre. Santa and his elves were very busy and so were all of the staff on the many different stalls and games.
Click here to access the video of the balloon launch which was dedicated to soldiers currently serving in the armed forces and those that served their country in the First and Second World War from Stoke-on-Trent. We were very proud of the amount of our students who commemorated the event on the 11/11/17 at services within the local area or as part of a team they are a member of.
